Remember this guy?
Back in 2014, the Stockton, CA police department posted the mug shot of a fugitive in an effort to enlist the public’s help capturing a gentleman named Jeremy Meeks in connection with a robbery case.
The mugshot stole… people’s hearts.
Sort of like Grumpy Cat, the Sexy Felon quickly became a memetic sensation.
Sure, he went to jail.
But then something else happened. As Independent Journal Review reports,
Meeks served a year of his sentence before he was released, and signed a modeling contract with White Cross Management shortly after.
And apparently, his career has been wildly successful.
The Daily Mail reports that the 32-year-old drives a $125,000 Maserati and lives in a luxurious mansion.
As you can see here, he seems quite comfortable with his success.
We Believe Jeremy Meeks “Models” Success Through These Three Key Changes
First, he drew a solid line beneath his prior mistakes. Without dwelling on his previous life of crime, he owns it, acknowledges it, draws lessons from it, and uses it to create laser focus on his success vision.
Second, he became a silver miner. A mugshot posted on a police department Facebook page made him an internet sensation for his “model” looks. Fair enough. He went with that. Seems to us like it’s working out just fine.
Third, he aligned himself with great people. In order to TRULY exude, appreciate, and gain from success, you have to understand, experience, and feel the effects of failure.
Go And Do Likewise. You’ll Look (And Feel) Good
This leads to one final lesson we can learn.
Success doesn’t make an appointment.
Success doesn’t arrive according to schedule.
Success finds you when you keep on keeping on.
